Wadi Hof
I should be thinking about writing report cards, but instead I'd rather share what I did over the weekend. Despite the doctor's orders to not walk, I set the walk course for the sock hash on Friday in beautiful Wadi Hof. Then, I proceeded to walk it later. In all, over 9km covered. The ankle was wrapped with a bandage and I wore a brace, but I still managed to twist it a few times. Will I never learn?
The walkers ascending the hill on the long trail. I took the short option no thanks to an extremely slow hasher who had to stop on the first uphill bit for several minutes.

Wadi Hof...gorgeous hills about in this area. I love the trails here and the beautiful views. It had rained the previous weekend, so there was water and it was greener than usual
(yes, this is green for a wadi).

Howie pretending to be a raffle prize...can you believe no one took him?

Ahh, Bahrain
Ok, so I've been home for a few days, but I just wanted to give a wrap-up of the many things to do in Bahrain. But before I begin to examine the cultural heritage of this kingdom, let me just say that it is one mighty clean place, probably thanks to these nifty little inventions. Note: Egypt, you should invest in about a thousand of these!
First, the architectural wonders. Look at the craftmanship and stunning Bahrainian design!
Next, there is the souvenir shopping. A store sponsored by the government no less, where all the visitors rush to immediately upon arrival!
Finally, there is the cultural experience. There is nothing more meaningful than partaking in local customs and ways, and doing things as the locals do!
Overall, the literacy coach training in Bahrain was very beneficial and inspiring. There are oodles of teaching books that I want to read NOW! However, Bahrain itself gets a big yawn.
On another note: it seems that the cold spell hit while I was away. While Bahrain was comfy and temps were hovering in the 90s, Cairo had dropped to the upper 70s/low 80s. It's definitely time to dig out the sweaters...I'm freezing!
